Other than using the SNFClient to send command to GBUdb (i.e snfclient -test <IPaddress), can this be done over XML?

Anything that can be done in the SNFClient can be done via XCI becuase that is how the Client does its work.

In the standard distribution we've updated the snf_xci.xml file to show the extra attributes.

Also you can run the SNFClient in debug mode to see both sides of the XCI conversation by renaming the client to SNFdebugClient.
