Customizing SNF

How does the weighting system work?

Message Sniffer does not use a weighting system. Instead SNF uses a discrete logic system - rules are either IN or OUT. This allows our quality control systems to be much more accurate and efficient because we do not have to contend with the interplay that occurs between rules in a weighted system.

None the less, weighting systems are widely used in systems that encorporate SNF. On these systems it is possible to apply separate weights to specific result codes from SNF, but it is not usually necessary.

We recommend that you ask for suggestions and examples on the Sniffer mail list and support forums for your platform w/ regard to configuring your weights --- there are many helpful folks there with a wide variety of approaches that might fit your needs or at least send you in the right direction.
