Vop Mail
Vircom Vopmail provides for the use of an "Agent" where you can specify an outside program to take action on the message. You can specify an agent for the entire server or for an individual mailbox. Message Sniffer can be used with this feature to filter spam by creating simple batch files that call the Message Sniffer utility and respond to the result code.
Also note, Vop Mail instructions work for Rockliffe's MailSite as well. Both were started from the EMWAC Internet Mail Server (IMS) project.
Here we've provided some samples that you can modify to work on your system.
For a system wide configuration: Agent.bat
For a per-mailbox configuration: MailboxAgent.bat
The procedures for installing agents are below.
System Wide Configuration
1. Open the Vircom Vopmail manager and double-click on the Agents item.
2. Enter the full path and file name of the batch file followed by %m %r.
Example: D:\Scripts\Agent.bat %m %r
Click OK and it takes effect instantly.
This setting takes effect for ALL DOMAINS + ALL MAILBOXES.
Per Mailbox Configuration:
Vircom also provides the "agent" feature per mailbox. To install Message Sniffer in this configuration the "Agent" program and the entry for that program will be slightly different.
Place the full path to the agent program in the Mailbox Agent field followed by %f.
Example: D:\Scripts\MailboxAgent.bat %f
